Acle United Res gained three valuable points at fellow strugglers Norwich CEYMS Res with a 6-4 victory on Saturday.
Determined to get back to winning ways after a couple of defeats, the team welcomed new signing James Scott in goal, one of many new signings in the since the New Year.
However, it was the hosts who scored an early goal before captain Goodwin equalised for Acle, but CEYMS made it 2-1 after an error by the visitors.
The goals kept on coming with Snelling squeezing the ball through a crowed defence to equalise before Acle took the lead shortly afterwards through Tuckfield to give Acle a 3-2 lead at half-time.
Tuckfield increased Acle’s lead with a great header to make it 4-2, then his relentless attacking saw him complete his hat-trick to put the visitors firmly in control.
At 5-2 up Acle took their foot off the gas and allowed CEYMS back in the game with two quick goals although one of their goals was from a dubious free kick but still well taken.
However, Goodwin completed his brace with a goal through sheer determination as Acle secured all three points in their battle to avoid relegation.
