An injury to an Acle player in the final minute caused the game to be abandoned with the home side leading 1-0 in a well contested game.
It was a fairly even start to the game, until Bullard on the right flank beat two defenders and crossed to Brister, who was adjudged offside on the edge of the Colney goal area. The visitors first real attack was nullified with Parker clearing a cross in the home penalty area.
As the half progressed, Acle were enjoying the majority of possession and a territorial advantage. Rowland picking up the ball in midfield ghosted through the away defence before seeing her shot curl past the far post, then only a last-ditch tackle prevented Bullard from a shot on goal. The resultant corner cleared by the visitors.
The home sides pressure was forcing the visitors deep in the own half and a loose ball across the Colney area saw Hoy win a corner, however, the set piece was well claimed by the Colney keeper, before a minute later, Rowland putting Bullard clear, saw her cross well saved by the keeper to keep the scores level.
Cooper was next to go close for the hosts after receiving a return ball from Bullard, seeing a shot just clear the bar, Towards the end of the half, the visitors conceded a series of free-kicks just outside their penalty area, however, Cooper’s effort was well held by the keeper then Rowland’s set-piece was just wide of the post.
The final act of the first half was a rare Colney attack through the centre of the park, but Larkins was on hand to cut out the danger as neither side was able to break the deadlock at the half-time whistle.
As in the first half the early pressure was coming from the hosts. A poor clearance from the keeper went straight to Bullard, but her shot went just wide of the post,
The next five minutes saw Colney have their best spell of the game so far. Mungham-Gray cut out a dangerous cross, then Bell in the Acle goal was forced to make her first save of the game on 55 minutes from a quick counter-attack.
Slowly Acle reasserted their dominance and Cooper hit the outside of the post after being put away down the flank by Rowland before Mungham-Gray put an effort just wide. The hosts were creating chances from attacks down the flanks and a dangerous cross from Hoy was just out of the reach of Mungham-Gray, before Larkins put Cooper clear on the left, who cut inside but her shot was just over the bar.
The deadlock was almost broken with 10 minutes remaining, when Kindred crashed the ball against the crossbar after receiving a lay back from Rowland, however 5 minutes later, a Scully free-kick put the hosts1-0 ahead.
Deep into added time an attack from Colney near the edge of the penalty area saw a collision of two Acle players, before the hosts were penalised for a foul a yard outside of the area. Resulting from the collision, Pasque received a neck injury and on medical advice was not able to be moved until the emergency services arrived, leaving the referee with no alternative but to abandon the game.
