Ladies Score Vital Win To Move Up To Third

By Web Master

The Ladies extended their winning run to three games after a 5-2 victory at home to Peterborough Northern Star this afternoon.

On as a substitute for Kate Pasque who suffered a nasty swelling over the eye after a clash of head, Grace Birchall opened the scoring in the 34th minute and completed her brace 2 minutes later to give Acle a 2-0 lead at half-time.
Emily Leach on her debut added a third shortly after the restart, before Peterborough reduced the deficit 5 minutes later. Birchall completed her hat-trick midway through the second half, with Shields opening her account for the season with 3 minutes remaining. The visitors made it 5-2 on the stroke of full time, but Acle took all three points to move into 3rd position in the table.
